Kathryn Billings, Town Manager provided the following at the August 17, 2010 Town Council Meeting:
Seeking additional citizen opinions concerning various proposed renovation options to the Jamestown Park, the Town Council directed me to survey households in Jamestown on the topic. I developed a survey to perform a census of households in Jamestown.
On my initiative, I decided to request addtional input from citizens who had been involved in the committee work during the last 12 months. I sent a draft of a survey to approximately 20 people on two citizen committees; the Recreation Committee and the Golf Committee. I scheduled a meeting and met with these committee members on June 28 to request this additional citizen input.
The combined committees made a number of changes to the draft document at that meeting. I sent a revised document (based on these citizens' comments) to all of the committee members on June 29. Receiving no additional comments, I sent the draft to Council members on July 2. The printer prepared and delivered the survey to the post office on July 9.
Due to delays in postal delivery, Council members directed staff to continue to accept these opinion surveys through August 12.
Sharen Apple (Jamestown's Administrative Support Specialist) opened and received all surveys, tabulated the simple question, and prepared these two pie charts.

The surveys were received at Town Hall from July 20 until August 12. The surveys have been scanned into pdf files by the date they were received. Inappropriate language has been redacted but otherwise are in their entirety.
The proposed renovation plan, the original Land and Water Conservation Fund Contract and the LWCF fact sheet are available for review. The Town's FAQs regarding the course are also available.
