As required by North Carolina General Statute Chapter 132, every custodian of public records shall permit any record in the custodian's custody to be inspected and examined at reasonable times and under reasonable supervision by any person, and shall, as promptly as possible, furnish copies thereof upon payment of any fees as may be prescribed by law.

The purpose of this form is not to require the requesting party's information or purpose but solely so the Town may have adequate time to compile the requested records and to be sure that each request is fulfilled in a timely fashion.

Online requests will be responded to by email if the requested record exists in electronic format. Otherwise, the requestor will be notified by email when the requested record is available for pickup and the amount of any associated fees. Therefore, an email address is required for an online request.
